Coming to Merceds AMG Petronas F1 in 2017 Valtteri Bottas proved not only to be the right man for the job, but mainly to be the right team player to cover Lewis Hamilton's back, so that he could win his fourth Champion Title in Formula 1. All year round he was the modest driver, fitting in with the team, who gave him all the support, background and feeling of the team spirit in return. Valtteri Bottas also managed to find his cool, which he reached through his modesty, professionalism and understanding his place in the team, which is very important. I assume Niki Lauda to be his idol, with his self-discipline, which have been showing in the team for some time, even though these may be just my speculations. The whole team has been showing professional attitude in the recent 10 years, similarly to other successful teams in F1.
I have visited the team previously, handing over the trophy to Niko Rosberg. We received a cordial welcome and met also with Lewis Hamilton. I believe that the cup of Climber of the Year in F1 in 2017 will be in good hands of, not only Valtteri Bottas, but also the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team. I believe there will be a chance for my wife and me to hand the trophy over in person again, and meet the people in the team, it is my great wish.
Currently we are negotiating manufacturing the cups for Valtteri Bottas and the team with RÜCKL CRYSTAL a.s., Nižbor.
