The Formula 1 Championship had its traditional start in Australia, even if quite a dramatic one. L.Hamilton won the qualification but the near newcomer R.Grosjean got as high as the third place.
Scuderia Ferari fell somewhere...deep. The boiling stated right after the start - Grosjean retired after an accident with Maldonado on the second lap. Lap five - Button in the lead, behind him there are Hamilton, Schumacher, Vettel, Rosberg, Aloso, Webber...
Despite his good start Michael Schumacher experiences bad luck and retires on the eleventh lap with a gearbox problem. Lap 24 - Button still in the lead, behind him Hamilton, Vettel, Alonso, Perez takes the fastest lap 1:31:740. Perez is the last one to pits on the lap 24. Lap 38, Petrov has a problem and The Safety Car is out. Lap 41, Kovalainen drops out and the Safety Car is in, the race restarts! Button keeps his leading position till the finish, Vettel comes second and Hamilton third.
